The Programme

Voices of Macmillan's Centenary Gala Concert will be hosted by BBC radio presenter Brian Kay, and promises to be a highlight of the classical music year, with a star studded line up of musicians, and an 800 strong choir joining with them to sing Faure's Requiem.

Headlining the Gala Concert will be one of Britain's greatest and best-loved star sopranos, Dame Felicity Lott, who will be performing some of her favourite pieces. Joining her are two wonderful singers who are currently taking the opera world by storm. First we have New Zealand soprano Anna Leese who was recently seen impressing the audience and judges at St David's Hall in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. And completing our lineup of world class opera singers is Bass Richard Wiegold who can be seen at the Royal Opera House this year in Verdi's La Traviata and Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

Our centenary Gala Concert will culminate in a thrilling performace of Faure's Requiem. Up to 800 voices from among the audience will join together to sing as a chorus under the baton of David Lawrence, who currently holds the Guinness World Record for conducting the UK's largest choir.

The Voices of Macmillan Centenary Gala Concert and Faure Requiem is set to be a wonderful evening of music and singing. All the proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. And you can book your ticket now or make a donation. Your ticket and your voice will help us to reach our aim of raising £15,000 for Macmillan.
